Pretty sad to see FDJ and Dest made the scapegoats here. They have not been performing well but hardly the worst in the squad at all. Dest especially has played everywhere but his own position this season and he is still 20 years old, but is criticised as a veteran. He is almost the same age as Nico, and 2 years younger then Riqui, but those 2 have the barrier of 'youth' for some reason. And don't even get started on Busquets or Pique who seem to be Teflon in this club. Where's the words about Mingueza?

Unfortunately you have to think it's because those two are not Catalan that their name is being highlighted in the media.

I think it's more to do with finance. With the exceptions of Pedri & Fati they are amongst the few players we have with any value. Who's going to buy Busquets or Pique? When you have ageing players on huge wages it's very hard to unload them. Man City had the same problem a few years ago. They had to let contracts run out and buy 4 new fullbacks. They had money though...

It's fine selling Dest but they better have a plan to replace him adequately not with 40 yo Alves and Roberto/Oscar. Unless we'd get 30m+ for Dest (unlikely) I'd keep him, try to sign Azpilicueta, let Roberto leave, possibly keep Oscar as a 3rd RB/4th-5th CB or maybe try to cash on him as well considering his contract expires in 2023 and he hasn't shown anywhere close enough to renew. Alves shouldn't stay beyond this season either. Azpi can take over his role as a veteran leader of defense.

The same for Frenkie. Good if they decide to sell for 100m+ and will smartly spend that money (throwing 60m for Ferran is not exactly doing that though) but Xavi better not plan for Busi to be around for 3-4 more years as a starter. But I'm affraid this is exactly what will happen and Busi will survive not only Xavi but our next coach or two as well.

I would play De Jong in Busi's position and sell him if he doesn't do well there.

Rudiger is not good. The guy was an absolute meme up until Tuchel came along and implemented the 3ATB system. Before that Rudiger was hilariously prone to errors under Lampard and Sarri. Don't be deceived by Tuchel's tax, the current Chelsea team's more of a whole is greater than a sum of its parts type scenario. Many of the players there are pretty mediocre.

An agreement with Manchester City for Ferran Torres is extremely close. Bar?a improved their offer: ?45m fixed + ?15m in variables. The clubs only have to agree in how many installments the payment can be made.
