He is to an extent (CL level) and I want him gone (and Vidal, and probably Messi too to be fair). We need to just let Koeman get his players and skate or die, so hopefully it happens.
Your also right about how toxic he appears. Mainly because he wants to always play like all elite athletes, but I am sure being supported by Messi is also a cause of this.
Thing is if we look at last season objectively, he was rushed back into the starting lineup unfit and untrained after his knee surgery during the covid period. A rested and back to fit Suarez is the only striker we have who guarantee's goals.
Defensively modern football can only support one player who works less than the rest, and that would ideally be at ST where you have 10 behind him. In our we can only afford for it to be either Messi or Suarez and not both (and certainly not with Busquets in the 11).
If it was only Suarez then we would probably look OK structurally, with him poaching and scoring from the hardwork and creation behind him. He still has the tendancies of a striker. Reason why I think he would still be a hit in Serie A too.
Board screwed up on that contract extension clause though.

I'm slowly coming to terms with the fact that we're now entering Man United territory. They reminisce about their glory days of 1990s and 2000s similarly and have been a managerial shit show (from top to bottom) for 7+ years. Closer to 10 actually as for all of SAF's genius, the rot started under his reign from 2011-2013.

New board, seniors gone, and I guarantee we will look good again. Not good as pep barca, but a lot more effort and motivation. Playing more as a unit instead of hoping for messi magic in every match

Problem is Messi/Coutinho/Griez all want the same space. It's mental how badly this team was built.. Planning shambolic. Thats waste of 300million euros.

Other than scoring goals. We would probably lose less Vs Bayern next time with better team defense.

You can't really compare because La Liga is always a two horse race pretty much. The Champions League is another matter but in La Liga I don't think Real Madrid would be capable of winning more than two in a row generally. Utd has more competition whereas we have only Real.
