If I'm getting 22 WC Messi then I may. This is the most balanced team without shoehorning any players for star value.
Today's Messi? Probably not. Yamal definitely starts over him. Messi before 2022 starts easily and is the first name on the team sheet alongside Rodri.
If I was biased I'd start GLC.

Messi and Yamal can play together as long as the other pieces fit in well to compliment them to which it does.

Messi at CF? Messi at CAM would weaken the team off the ball. 4 forwards is way too much.
Front 3 would be Nico/Alvarez Messi Yamal then.

I don't mind that front 3. Probably something like this

Nah. Macca in midfield. He'll be useless as a false winger drifting in. Not his game whatsoever. Even Pedri would be better at that role. He played there for Las Palmas sometimes.
Alvarez coming in off the left. Balde charging up the flank. Messi in CF/false 9 with freedom to roam. Yamal doing his thing in his usual position.
433 with Pedri Rodri Macca midfield. Elite.

MacA has played in that position before (vs Croatia in the WC22 Semi and in Copa America 24). He's much attacking than Pedri so no point in having Pedri in that area.
MacA drifts in anyways while Alvarez drifts out if needed.

Wasting his defensive attributes and tactical nous in the middle of the park. Since he joined us, his defense has majorly improved.
Alvarez played off the left in a CR7 esque role for City and it suited him perfectly.

Just ditch McAllister and play Pedri and Rodri in a double pivot, have Messi as the CAM and Lamine at RW.
