Are we favourites for the next Champions League?

Don't think PSG is favorite either. When you get dismantled by Chelsea you lose all the credit you gathered before.

5-6 similar quality teams, but the worst part for us is the Camp Nou situation and that, while we have a strong 11, the rest of the squad is still defficient on several spots. So if injuries hit 3-4 key players... we're in bigger trouble than other teams.

Oh and our CB pair is one of the worst in all top 6-8 teams if not the worst full stop.

Luck counts too. Look at Pool. They played Leipzig away from pot 1. They had so much luck on the draw from league phase that they had to get PSG next.

We play some weaker teams from Pot 1 and 2 away, and top 3 in league phase is almost secured.

Correct, but these are not the correct Top5 teams

PSG, Liverpool, Arsenal, Barca, all the others behind

Madrid and City will be nowhere close next season

I will never ever believe arsenal can win the CL until they actually do.

They could be 3-0 up with 3 minutes left, they'll probably lose.

My 5 standards correct

PSG, Liverpool,Barca, Madrid, City.

Teams that can actually win it, not make deep runs are even a final, actually WIN

Not *the* favorite, but one of the favorites as others have said.

We still have some issues with lack of depth at LB and our CBs who really need to step up big time. Inigo, Cubarsi, Araujo made way too many dumb decisions in the CL.

Sure people can blame Flick's tactics and they do have a point in that he could change things which he said he would defensively, but you cannot have your CBs make it much worse with idiotic mistakes.

tbf, this happened while they were missing Pacho who was their best CB and the only athletic one.
Beraldo is one of those "elegant" CB who lacks proper defensive skill, at least at the moment. Not good athlete or big enough to be imposing, while being mistake prone and lack some awareness. A bit like Lenglet.

If that Zabarnyi CB is legit, they are absolute favourites tbh. The new system will also favours teams who plays in less competitive league.

Imo people should calm down about our defence. Yes Cubarsi and Iñigo were very disappointing against Inter but what can we do when they were basically the only CB duo we played for the entire season. I’m sure Cubarsi will learn from such an experience and get better since he’s only 18, if Araujo or Christensen get back to their level we could definitely contend for this one.

Yea CBs are fine, as I keep saying & none can counter other wise, our CBs are no worse than PSG's. Or Chelsea if we want to go that far lol.

They fucked up, the system left them overlay exposed, let's hope all learnt from it, which doesn't guarantee we will win, but should at least guard against the levels of fuckery we saw vs inter in the closing minutes.

They were losing duels in every part of the pitch. It wouldn't have made that much difference imo. And I like Pacho a lot.

Yeah people are acting like PSG’s defence is revolutionary when they almost got eliminated against Aston Villa and were only being saved by Donnarumma. Madrid’s defence isn’t and wasn’t that good to begin with, and the only reason they did 2 in 3 was Courtois. The only club I can guarantee has a better CB pairing than us is Liverpool.

Seeing our rivals and others spend 100+ million to strengthen themselves while we will end up selling more than buying and struggling to register, I don't see how we can be considered favorites.

It's Flick's magic holding this together. And I mean everything. Stadium issues and other failures by this board are embarrassing but if not for magical last season, things would have been a complete disaster.

Kounde is solid but he's really only a makeshift option and far from the level of Dani Alves. Cuba is prone to mistakes and not very imposing. Inigo pushing 34. Balde is good but who knows with the injuries.
We haven't addressed the defensive issues that cost us CL Final and could end up even worse as looking to lose backup options in Araujo or Christensen.

You guys really just like to stay pessimistic. Last season we weren’t favourites for anything and now we won a domestic treble and minutes away from a UCL final, I’m sure we can say we are favourites if not one of the favourites. We got a left winger and a brand new goalkeeper, these are very important positions that would help us massively this season. As for the defence, with experience Cubarsi will get better and Kounde also improved massively in his attacking output, Torrents seems to be a great option for back up left back. With experience we’ll get better as we still have a very young squad who is in the beginning of their careers.

And like I said previously Barcelona doesn’t need to spend 100m-200m euros a summer to look competitive, last season we only spent money on Olmo and managed to win 3/4 trophies with La Masia and our Summer 2022 signings helping us win all these trophies while playing our best football in 9 years. Yes it’s risky, but with time the machine will become more efficient and less error prone.

Nico isn't Henry or dinho
Kounde is no Dani alves

What's next, yamal is no Messi
Pedri is no xavi
De Jong is no busquet
Olmo is no Iniesta.

The things bojan has to say to make non sense point is always hilarious.
