The only decent thing sure, but it's not like Griezmann's part in it was amazing. In fact I'd say the crucial and hardest part of the move was Busquet's pass, which by your logic would make him MoM. Face it, he was anonymous\scared the rest of the game but because he runs he gets a pass?

He was crap, we're here to judge him on his attacking contributions which were over the period of 90s mins lacking. Sure its great that he adds energy and work rate which helps with our squad issues but he brings so many disadvantages to our attacking game. He is genuinely one of the reasons the team was functioning poorly, he offers no penetration or real attacking threat which means that the napoli defence has to worry about one less area of the pitch, ignoring that is burying your head in the sand.

Can’t really say that. Suarez hasn’t scored an away CL goal since 2015. Griezmann scores a decisive away goal with his first and only chance. Suarez leads wasted clear cut opportunities by a long margin for the last 3-4 years as well. Griezmann for Atleti was as lethal as they come.

Ended us and Bayern in 2015-16 CL with the only clear chances of the game. Also double v Germany in Euro semis. And WC 2018.

People don't understand that Suarez at his best was a much better player but Griezo has been more decisive in big moments. Before people point to 14-15 treble/CL, Suarez had a prime Messi and ney ney to shoulder the load.

i think you missed my point then; I'm basically saying that scoring a goal during a match does not determine the overall balance or synergy brought to a team other than the effect of the goal itself hence why we can adjudge him to have been lacklustre even though he has contributed a goal.

Secondly why would you compare the players directly if not inferring that griezmans singular goal somehow renders that same logic sequence not applicable?

This board sometimes, man... People cry because we need someone to finish chances in the CL (especially away), then Griezmann does that and all of a sudden it's not enough... People ask for Suárez to press and help in defense, then Griezmann does exactly that and turns out it's not enough once again...

I'm not saying he is great and our savior, we all know Griezmann doesn't quite fit and what the consequences are, but come on, it won't kill to accept that even if not good enough overall, he is still contributing to the results of the team... Take him out and we are even more screwed...
