Andrés Cuenca (loaned to Sporting Gijón)

He was better off going the Dominguez route than signing a new deal anyway.

Cuenca is the typical La Masia CB, great on the ball but not particularly fast nor Athletic so to speak. Didn't see much of a future for him at least in this point in time here.

Baba and Sergi Mayans miles clear. I think two big futures.

Baba will no doubt play with the first team.

Baba is way too short for a modern day CB. He could make it there but it takes an elite talent to compensate for that.

Gariba has the profile and tools, I am not sure about his talent level, though.

There is always "the next guy" in La Masia whenever the older talent doesn't look good, but it rarely works especially for some positions like CB.

Cubarsi is the only one to make it directly from La Masia to first team since Puyol. (Oleguer, Araujo and Martin were B team signings, Pique and Garcia were out of the club for 4 years before we signed them again).

Only 20% is sad. It should have been at least 40%

As we see with Mingueza, when you get a very high % it deincentives teams from selling players as it isn't worth it for them unless it is a big offer.

Also, they can do the Villarreal special and sell him for low fee with buyback of lower fee to override it.

We got 0.5M transfer fee too iirc.

Gariba and Baba are about the same haha

I see him as a quality cdm, and he obviously can play there and most positions.

His decision making would suit Cubarsi. Very silky. He can go forward. He'll be in - Just a matter of when.

Mayans with Ebrima... their all going to sprout and grow soon.

Mayans has alot strength, skills, speed. Watch him be 10x better than Hjuisen.

However, according to sources at the Barcelona club, the situation is different and what is now planned in the Barça offices is a direct loan to Sporting , but only after a renewal of Cuenca 's contract, which ends at the end of the current season.

The Club, which was due to expire on June 30, for another season, until June 30, 2027 .

Furthermore, FC Barcelona and Sporting de Gijón have reached an agreement for the loan of the 19-year-old defender until June 30, 2026.

Club ended up doing what alot of us had said, renew Cuenca and loaned him directly ourselves to Gijon. Showed some backbone and gave him the option of renewing for 1 year and loaning to Gijon, or move on a free in Summer by winding down contract but face 6 months on the outskirts and not playing.

Good move for us and fairplay to Cuenca for having a brain.

As for Como, wonder if this sours relationships for future but probably not, as the goodwill and moves previously has all been down to the Cesc factor more than anything.
