I was very sceptical when Isak was at Sociedad, but he's improved a lot. The technique was always there, but his finishing, decision making, and physique have improved dramatically.
If he had come here when he was younger, he'd have a few opportunities, and he'd be shipped off on loan if he didn't click.
Knowing which players to keep and which to ship off is a skill this club has never excelled in.

He wasn't Barca ready at Society to be fair. Showed some extraordinary spurts mind you.

This club would have eaten him had we signed him at the point Newcastle did.

This may very well be another one of his purple patches. Its 12 in 12, but 1 in 8 previously (including toegate) just for perspective.

But seems he finally is consistently putting it together.

Let's see end of season where he could go cold or get one of his longish injuries.

He won't be available if they make the CL.

Only hope is that they fall out of CL and maybe even European places altogether. Then he'll definitely make a push to be sold and Newcastle might prefer to sell outside England.

For god's sake don't spend 80m+ on Gyokeres.

Am I one of the only ones here who doesn't rate him that high? Decent player but not world class level.

I'd rather take a chance on Vik Gyok, who can become world class. Just has more strings to his bow than Isak, and is a much more cheaper deal in wages and transfer fee.

Gyok is clearly quicker, stronger, better in the air, better hold up play, better shooting from range, better dribbler, better free kicks, better shot power.

Can't think of one thing Isak is CLEARLY better than Vik.

Go Get Gyok.
