9 - Robert Lewandowski

He played well with what he had, just didn't get anything of real substance coming his way upfront.

When you have superstars like Yamal I guess ignoring Lewandowski is a great idea.

Something must be done about these dozens of Lewa trolls.

You can't say anything about this guy without them turning straight up toxic.

On this forum, even Messi has been heavily criticized in the past (even in 14/15, when we was full GOAT level) - so relax, and soak in the facts. Yes, he was not fully fit. But yes, he was also fairly useless.

Wouldnt fault him for our loss.
But if he were the old Lewa, he probably started the game and buried those chances.

And thats the difference we all have been harping about since Dec.
He has been a great servant to the club, but its time for us to sideline him and initiate a replacement.

He was clearly not fit enough to play. It was a do or die decision to bring him. When Flick hesitated to bring him in the second half, I understood it was mindgames before to declare him fit to play. In the end, Flick risked it anyways with no success.
He will need many more pauses in the next season.

Its just all the Polish fans who signed up here when he came, I get it, he is their countryman and greatest product.

Just keep in mind those are not Barca fans.

All this barking for a player who at the end of the day won less big cups than Luis Suarez, who declined in 2016

It’s wild and Suarez was a bum in the CL for most of his career as well.

Unlikely but I really hope we find Lewandowski’s replacement ASAP.

At least these lunatics will move off elsewhere.

Also, he doesn't own any goal scoring records. The peak or longevity ones are either held by Messi or CR7 (ignoring their Saudi and Miami bits of course). And they did it in tough leagues that were dominating Europe in CL and EL at that time.

He's a great player - he just isn't a GOAT tier in his position. Even breaking down with injury when he did is yet another clue. He always starts the season guns blazing in the more inconsequential games and is is injured (this season and Flick's 2nd at Bayern), tired, or indecisive in the business end where the big trophies are won.

The one time he had plenty of rest because of a worldwide pandemic, he won the CL. And still didn't score in the CL final and barely made a mark on Lyon in the semis.

Other than his breakout performance v RM which was legendary (and he was an unknown at that time and not double marked), he has been largely underwhelming the deeper you go.

I'm surprised this trend is so active, he was a non factor yesterday.

That's meant in a neutral way, not good or bad, was just not a factor he was injured.
