That miss also showed how much of a natural finisher he is, he deliberately lifted his shot, because he could tell the defender was sliding in, just lifted it too perfectly in a sense.

I saw it immediately after the shot, others did, TV pundits saw it, but you didn't. The defender was sliding in, the goalkeeper was also positioning himself, and Lewandowski lifted the ball 3-4 cm too high. It happens. Sure, it looks like a huge miss, but as someone mentioned, Lewandowski was trying to demonstrate his intelligence – 90% of players would force the shot with their eyes closed.
