The the main reason we moved from a 3 man midfield understand Xavi, I don't think flick would play it anyways, that's not his system, but if we can get a DM who can play Single pivot when needed, it will offer us a lot of opportunities.

Only bernal can potentially do it & that's all potential right now.

I remember when we played gavi, pedri and I think busi the first season gavi was promoted, when it clicked, it was some good stuff.

But anyways 433 under flick isn't happening

Zubimendi is a big help for Pedri, as it is showed with Spain.

Xavi's vision was there.

Facts, xavi was obsessed & one can see why, he would be a massive help to our midfield in the DM position beside pedri or help us play 433

Thought Gundogan was a top signing.

Thought Kessie would fit Barca.

Zubimendi is good though just didnt want to play under Xavi and Barca couldnt afford him anyway after wasting too much money in 2022.

Nah Gavi and Pedri rarely worked and Xavi chose Frenkie as the starter far far more often in 433 and for good reason.

The best form in Xavis first season Frenkie and Pedri played.. Xavi changed it for Frankfurt... got absolutely hammered and midfield was shite.

The season before he changed formation Frenkie was again in ahead of Gavi.

Barca with Pedri/Gavi together. Lilke Spain. Have rarely played well.

This idea that Gavi is more important because La Masia would produce another Pedri soon is inane.

Just against spanish teams. When we played against strong teams in cl we where very bad. Frenkie is worldclass but only on the double 6.
Busquets was too slow (not just in running) to play in a top team in 2020-

Busi - Pedri - Gavi has never really worked that well or lasted long for Barca or Spain.

It was honking as went out to Frankfurt in Europa in both legs awful.

It was poor for most part as went out the CL the next season in group.

It was shite for Spain in World Cup as could only beat Costa Rica.

Frenkie was a starter in the 433 ahead of Gavi and Barcas best midfielder in the run up to that formation change.

Xavi knew exactly what to do with the midfield. He envisioned a midfield 3 with Zubimendi DM, De Jong box to box, and Pedri CM-AM.

That's what we should aim at. Unfortunately, there were no money for Zubimendi in summer of 2023. Maybe he also didn't want to play in Spain for a Spanish club other than Sociedad.

Pedri is not that good deep in a 2 man midfield as some believe. Playing deep requires defensive abilities, stamina, speed, several things he struggles at. If anyone knows what is required to play CM, it's Xavi.

Good thing we have JamDav to tell the greatest CM of all time who can play what in midfield .
