Yeah I would say PSG is up there as best with Barca at keeping the ball.

Other decent midfields going about also though.

City if can get Rodri/Reijneders, Arsenal with Zubi/Rice, Real will find a good midfield, Bayern on day still top.

That was true 2-3 years ago. Not anymore. Pedri is almost universally recognized as one of the best in the world in CM.

I would say Pedri still has to show it in latter stages of CL or Intl tournament if wants to be universally held up as the very best.. even if he already is.

Should have been playing deeper years ago.

Still can be class at AM but just need him facing game and dictating tempo more than that.

This supposed duel with Pedri vs Gavi. Pedri clearly ahead.

More of an actual conversation is wether Gavi can deliver on his initial promise and lock a position as our starter. Or we could move some midfielders and sign a different player in midfield in the next 2-3 seasons.

Jury is still out on that.

He has been closer to Casado level than those two is the reality.

Gavi has never even been a starter at Barca in midfield when all fit bar 3/4 games when they tried to punt FDJ due to his contract.

Yea gavi personality, you'll gravity to and he's a baller when fit, was hoping to see him come back strong this season, looked that way in the preseason & the first few games, but injuries don't care about all that.

Every coach speaks to how much of a leader he is, even flick says he's the heart of the team.

I like gavi waaaay more than pedri.

But it's clear a day, for minute one, that a fit in form pedri is the best Midfielder at Barca, and now he's the best Midfielder in the world.

Pedri and Gavi have never looked great together and is more midgets in a team already lacking height. That is a big issue with teams face.

Gavi is a decent player and his best position is Pedris.

But, again, the bigger task is finding the 3rd man to complement Pedri and FDJ. Who is that 3rd man and do we have it or need to outsource it?

Very few question Pedri and FDJ now in 2025 as the golden duo of our side in midfield.

Gavi looked like a Kante regen at times before the injury.

And Prime Kante was obviously a cheat code for any manager. Singlehandedly destroyed Kroos Modric Casemiro in both the legs when Chelsea won the CL.

I get why managers love Gavi so much.
