This guy is unrecognisable compared to the player under Xavi. Flick has transformed him.
We had dembele, and now we know his qualities. He is and was no yamal but he was very good under xaviWorth noting that Xavi didn't have Lamine as the main creator of the team offensively, was only here in his rookie season. With Lamine, we play often to him to make stuff happen, so it makes more sense for Pedri to play deeper.
Think Xavi would have him deeper if we had Olmo and Lamine back then. The team improved squad wise a lot since 2023-24. Back in 2024, Olmo was not signed, Fermin was a rookie with no experience, and Lamine as well. There's 3 players with offensive capabilities in the last third we didn't have back then.

To me he already looks to be at the same level as prime Iniesta.
I like him a lot and as I said, I consider him a top 5 player in the world. But that's a bit much mate lol, Iniesta is likely a top 5 mf ever.To me he already looks to be at the same level as prime Iniesta.
Pedri on the 3–2 win:
“We know it’s not easy here. We had a tough time, but I’m happy with the team’s reaction. In the second half we played with more possession and more rhythm. As for my goal: they always tell me to shoot, so I tried it.”
… on the penalty:
“To be honest, I don’t really know the handball rules. Recently we had a presentation from the federation about handball, and for example, Tchouaméni’s handball last season (in the Clásico) was, in my opinion, a clear handball, while this one here wasn’t for me — and yet it was given.”
Pedri needs to have some physical strength to reach all time great. Techinically already flawless.I like him a lot and as I said, I consider him a top 5 player in the world. But that's a bit much mate lol, Iniesta is likely a top 5 mf ever.
Pedri's muscle growth has been already impressive. Upper body is not key for his role, but leg muscles. Just remember Adama Traore, who returned on loan under Xavi and his impressive upper body did nothing to contribute to his game.Pedri needs to have some physical strength to reach all time great. Also the team around him. He is an all phase midfielfer and should have license to play his way.
