Xavi was a general. I love to see some old clips of his pressing and how best of those barca players (Messi and Iniesta) always followed him closely depending of the position on the pitch.
Although i still love Iniesta more.

There is no comparisons with those 2

Yeah Xavi was a general who shaped the entire game to his style.

I think Pedri can follow his footstep. He is getting better at receiving the ball from the back and starting his play, also better at roaming freely over the pitch.

I agree with don, let's not compare Pedri as much a I rate him to Iniesta and Xavi.

Its not impossible, but it's highly highly improbable he gets close.

So and so forth all class midfielders, none are as good as Iniesta or Xavi.

With Xavi it's impossible. With Iniesta, if Pedri can get more clutch in big moments, he can get closer. Iniesta did not score volumes, but scored or made decisive offensive moves in the biggest games.

He would get close to Iniesta, but his stamina is still an issue. For example, in the Copa del Rey final, first half was great, 2nd he disappeared. Iniesta did not disappear in games.

Pedri can get into that god zone, if he remains healthy and has a team that can bring the best out of him. Like Xavi with Pep's vision from 2008-12 (and Spain followed that footstep).

Pep's vision needed likes of Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, more than they needed Pep to be great players. Pep's legacy is tied to the greatness of that Barca side at a collective level, not individually to players like Xavi, Iniesta, Messi.

I think Xavi was best player in Euro 2008 and in 2009 in Pep's first season he hit some absurd number of assists while playing as a CM. That's the sign that Pep got his hand on a player that was already very much playing at a stratospheric level in CM.

As much as i like pep, i think this is true. God knows how would barca play if for example lucho had that xavi and iniesta from pep era. Pep had top 3 ballon d'or nomines of 2010 at his disposal. All that with busquets, dani alves, pique, puyol, henry, eto'o, villa, filling the squad. Thats a monster cheat code
