8 - Pedri

Magic. I would say ditch the 10 for now (Olmo), and pair Pedri with a phisical high-workrate player. Let's hope Gavi will stop fucking around and will deliver on this. In time, Pedri will play in a more advanced position imo. If Gavi is not ready, midfielders with the profile of Partey are good options.

Our midfield has loads of technique, but no grit with Pedri, De Jong and Olmo. We need to work on this in the future. Olmo can play higher up than in midfield, as a false 9, or as a left winger. Plus rotate in midfield with the other players.

Was browsing around on Redcafe and seen these pearls of wisdom from early 2024 from Tempt. Pedri has sure proven him wrong since then (though it was stupid at the time too). What a clown. And of course crushing on his Polish boyfriend too. This is what happens when you know absolutely nothing about football beyond stats (and fanboyism for certain players) and obsess over them. This is the same guy who argued for a long time that Bellingham is better than Pedri, remember.

Also, Tempt, Lewy in a way is lucky he's Polish because if he was Brazilian or French he'd have far more pressure to perform at NT level than he does now. He'd probably fail with them too, but when he fails with Poland people just say it's ok because he's Polish:

'Pedri: Slow and weak and extremely indecisive in the final third. Always plays it safe. He has major stamina issues and looks extremely tired around the 60 minute mark. He's the player profile that appeals to modern Football fans which is exactly what made him so comically overrated. People see a diminutive Spanish technician and just go "He's the next Iniesta/Xavi"; also injury prone and has poor presence against high quality European opposition.'

'Robert Lewandowski: A finished Robert Lewandowski has better numbers than most World Class attackers have in their peaks. Came into a new league where Barca were struggling and won them trophies and already has around 75 Goal Contributions(56G + 19A) in a season and a half. Staggering record at every level and will end his career at well above 700 career goals. Impeccable consistency and fitness record throughout his career. His career speaks for itself really. Imagine the hype if he was Brazilian, French, English, etc! One of the greatest to ever do it.'

@Temptation did you see the light regarding Pedri?
He never changes his mind about a player.

He gets something in his head about a player - good or bad, fanboy or disliker - and then looks for all sorts of mental gymnastics to justify it. Much of the time it has very little to do with how good they are at football (even if they are good) and is often about how he perceives their 'looks' or 'charisma' or 'aura'. Also, often the players he hates are direct rivals of the players he likes. Which is why he hates them, jealousy and insecurity.

He takes a position and builds a narrative, rather than using evidence to take a position.

Players or football personalities he loves and will not hear a bad word against: Beckham, Kaka, Lewa, Ronaldo, De Bruyne, Bellingham, Mourinho, Zidane, Gerrard and some other

Players or personalities he hates and tries to put down constantly, even when he rates them he tries to have little digs and position them as inferior to his favourite men:

Benzema, Scholes, Messi, Suarez (even funnier as he claims to be a Liverpool fan), Pep, Zlatan, R9 (the idiot has seriously tried to claim Lewa is better, LOL) Pedri, Yamal, and some others

The hilarious thing is he has deluded himself into believing he's the most unbiased, objective poster around.

Says the smurf who only rates diminutive players because he's a tiny manlet.

Also, imagine being so obsessed with a poster you claim to hate that you go and actively read their posts from the previous year on a completely different forum. Rent free.

Classic example of obsession and mental illness.

Tempt was right at the time. Pedri under had stagnated for the previous few years playing more advanced roles under frauds like Xavi until Flick helped him take the step to being world class class in a deeper midfield position.

LDF does not treat him like the best midfielder in the world he is

All due respect to Zubimendi, Merino, Ruiz and everybody else. Pedri is better. And on club level, it's quite obvious. We can only hope this bald fraud will have someone change his mind and we get to clearly see it in national team as well
