8 - Pedri

Don’t think he’s been that sharp for a few weeks to fair. Little slow to release the ball and awareness not quite what it usually is.

Fantastic season but expected decline at the end considering how much he played over the season.

Next season his minutes gotta be managed better. At least 10-20 mins in those games we win easily sub him off, it can be helpful.

As I've mentioned before, he rarely scans when he doesn't have the ball. He often only knows what is going on in the direction he is facing. Once he has the ball, he has good vision, but this playing style is always inclined to slow down the attack.

FdJ, on the other hand, has improved leaps and bounds in this regard, since developing under Flick. He is aleways scanning and is releasing the ball much quicker than he used to.

There was a moment about 14 minutes into the 1st half where Pedri inexplicably passed to the crowded left side rather than to Olmo to his right who was in acres of space. I need to look at that again.

There was also a 1-2 Yamal tried to him but he went the opposite direction where no 1-2 could even occur which is the worst part. Plays with too much fear and safety.

13:21-13:25 How do you not play Olmo here with Yamal next to him with a 1v1? Or wall pass it to Torres to flick on to Olmo? Instead, a bad pass trying to hit Raphinha over the top.

Iniesta and Xavi were phenoms, once in a lifetime type players. I think it's unfair to compare him to them. He will get better yes, but expecting him to have the telepathic scanning and vision of Xavi and Iniesta at the age of 22 is a little unfair. Lad is an amazing mid, let's appreciate him for his skills and hope he gets better. He is a major reason why we've won trophies this season.

Pedri: "This isn't the first time this has happened to us with this referee (Szymon Marciniak). UEFA should look into it. There are things I don't understand and they're difficult to explain. All the 50-50s were for Inter. The ref didn't give 2nd yellow card to Mkhitaryan."
