Fair enough mate. You watch Barca more than me and I like your posts in general. Hence, I will look more closely at him in future and see if I was overrating that aspect of his game.
I was surprised, tbh. And I think that's a quality the team lacks. Lots of positives, of course, but there really isn't a world class playmaker. Pedri could certainly improve, if he wants to, or if Flick makes a point of it. Olmo is quite good, especially around the penalty box, but doesn't see enough of the ball in build-up.

Second half agains VIL showed once again axiom "no Pedry, no party". Team looks clueless without him despite all the posession. Dejong is great ball retainer, but zero playmaking skills. Pedri just moves the ball, where it needs to be and does it swiftly, while DJ falters around. All the burden of making things happen fell on Yamal in the end.

Pedri and Yamal are class playmaker. With Bernal's return next season and if he is a reliable DM, Pedri will focus more on playmaking duty rather than running up and down to defend.

Ramon Planes, former Barça Sporting Director on how Bayern wanted to sign Pedri, as he speaks to
@La_SER
.
"Just two days after that crushing 2-8 loss to Bayern Munich in Lisbon, I got a call from Pedri’s agent. He told me Bayern wanted to set up a video conference, they were seriously interested in signing Pedri."

"I was taken aback, when Bayern called for Pedri. At that point, Pedri hadn’t even joined Barcelona yet, we had secured his signing, but he was still playing for Las Palmas. It was a surprise, no doubt."
