Today's article from Diario AS:

Training Adjustments: Pedri has adopted new training methods, including pilates, gym routines, and specific muscle-strengthening exercises to prevent injuries.

Recovery Techniques: He now regularly uses recovery tools such as ice baths and hyperbaric chamber sessions to enhance muscle recovery and reduce fatigue.

Mental Approach: In addition to physical adjustments, Pedri has worked on his mental resilience, emphasizing the importance of a strong mindset in overcoming setbacks.

Current Performance: These changes have contributed to him playing 31 matches this season, a significant improvement compared to previous injury-plagued seasons.

Long-Term Goals: Both FC Barcelona and Pedri are focused on ensuring a sustainable approach to his playing time, aiming to avoid overloading him again as seen in the 2020-2021 season.

He also said there's a "secret" he uses which he didn't want to reveal.
So he entered the hyperbolic time chamber, makes sense.

Think Messi has done that recovery training for decades. So it isn't something completely new.

I think before Pedri might overestimate his own body. I remember when he was asked about playing too much, he said it is fine as he just needs to eat and rest well.

He was a kid when he said that, of course he just want to play. Its easy to not see the whole picture when you are 20. Hopefully he has learned now how to it right and can say no when he feels overplayed.

He is excellent offensively and in passing again. BUT, there's just someone missing in the midfield who handles the physical defensive work behind him.

Hope Bernal is really as good as the hype. Rayo are scum.

People talk about Raphinha and Yamal but the real best player of this team is Pedri, I just wish him to not get big injuries because he's the next Iniesta : exceptionnal technique, vision and consistency. He's the soul of the team and perfectly incarnates the club's spirit. Unfortunately, like many other players he has no hype.

The more I think about it the more the “has to keep playing otherwise will get injured type of muscles” seems like nonsense to me.

I hope it’s true because at this rate it would mean he would never get injured for the rest of his life.

But I mean, it’s not like official games are the only way for players to use their muscles.
They could sub him and build workout regiment around it to compensate.

Pedri asked Flick that it would be better for him to participate in the matches continuously.

The technical staff was thinking of giving him a rest during some easy matches.

The player explained that the nature of his diet and way of thinking were not compatible with absence from matches.

If the club wants to rest him, it is better to substitute him in the 60th or 70th minute rather than miss the entire match.

This system has already proven successful in enhancing Pedri's performance, because when he is in good physical condition, as we know, his high technical quality stands out.

I am no sport science expert, but I can't get the logic here ...
if he keeps playing and does not miss any match he has less (?) chances of getting muscle injuries?
Bewildering

PS: At least we have an answer why he NEVER gets rotated in easy games

When you have few great players performing at the highest level, it's tough to get the spotlight.

I've seen this menacing look from him quite few times lately. Like vs Cesni after his fuckup. There was an episode in some recent match, where Casado hesitated to take free kick in middle of pitch complaining that some oppo player is too close. Pedri emerged and was like, fuck off with this cuck bs, pushed him away and quickly took the dead ball to nearest player.
Think as he matures, he will become not only leader as a mid maestro, but also warrior with high resolve and leadership. He is quite good at defending/pressing too. In a smart way.

Edit
Also look at the sheepish looks on Ferret and Garcon in comparison.

He needs to stop being injured before everything else.
This season is a good sign.. so far

Waiting for news on Pedri's salary. I'm curious to see how much it will change. I think it will go up to the level of 15 million euros.
