The problem is that they haven't managed to sign their targets, even bidding in excess of 80m for Naby Keita didn't work for them. Time to get a suitable replacement is not there right now either.

Only chance is their owners not giving a shit about Klopp and being okay with selling him.

You are talking nonsense!! Liverpool could not get any of their targets this summer! They tried to get keita for 66£ mil and got rejected they tried to sign van virgil, also rejected. Klopp is not brandon rodgers. Klopp only wants certain players that fit his style of play and his system. He is very selective who he wants, if he can not get the players he desires, he simply refuses to buy other players and waste money. There is no way in hell Coutinho is coming to barca this season, i find it laughable, liverpool is already well behind other top PL teams in transfer market selling coutinho in this tranfer window is shooting yourself in the face. Now its not as bad as Suarez left them but considering that besides salah they pretty much got nobody it's absolutely insanity that this deal will happen, Our best bet is dembele and seri and case closed for 2017/18

So I have interesting news. There was a board meeting to discuss the 100m Euro offer. Most of the board agreed to no sale, but there ones that did. They fully expect (which I reckon, but this is me just guessing, the whole Tuesday thing) Barca to come back with a bid we cant refuse. They have also threatened to move one to there targets (fingers crossed). So Cou was left out of the friendly, just in case. Theres a mini kind of battle going on in as much that - Klopp and board members have said they want to keep him and he plays V Watford. Others are saying keep him out of the game in case he picks up an injury and then any deal would fall through.
So my take on it, and again this is pure guess work, if he plays against Watford he will stay regardless of the bid, if he doesnt then I think we are waiting for Barca's huge bid.

On of the things you may have read which has got legs is Lanzini of West Ham. He would be bought in as Cou's replacement.
