Fantastic cameo. This is the standard we need for our players. You missed a huge chance v Chelsea, but go on, make up for it next time. He came on and ran like a fucking dog for 20 minutes, scored a goal to seal the win

The narrative he doesn't perform in big games is false... reality is he is inconsistent against literally anyone and doesn't change from what you'd expect facing a high level team or a low level team.

Morata, Werner type player etc but his finishing might be slightly better.

The bonus of playing him is even if he is shite he will at least press and run the channels. His physical level is very good.

In the last 3 LaLiga seasons so far he has recorded 25 goals in 3148 minutes, and we add to that 10 assists as well.

That is a goal every 126 minutes, and a goal or assist every 90 minutes.

For a player who is bit part and switches between winger and striker, those are fantastic numbers.

The narrative is you can't trust* him in big games, one minute he'll score a excellent goal, next minute he misses a open goal.

Once he thinks he's gonna fold, if he reacts he does well

Things he definately does better than Lewa are press and keep up pace. Since Lewa is having more and more off games it probably would be smart to start with Ferran so we at least have three forwards pressing non stop and be dangerous that way.

I agree his level is not reliable. This is why he isn't a starter really, he is like one step down from the quality we would need, but he is also probably the best backup we can find in the position, its doubtful any player of a similar contribution would come to play on the bench.

There is no indication he ever complained about minutes and he took a lot of shit from the fans for the first couple of years, this is the kind of player that is a great squad piece.

Yeah, he's definitely a good backup, not what we bought him for or the hype around his signing.

But he's proved me wrong in that he's developed into a very nice squad player.

I worry about what will happen once Flick leaves if we don't have such an attacking manager who has helped all our attackers improve.

But that's a worry for another year or two..
