We need Gavi to become the Gavi we hoped he would be. Yes he has been injured and it's not all his fault as ACL's just happen look at Bernal catching one after like 4 games last season.
But we can't do the potential thing forever and that is factual. De Jong is in his prime. Pedri is already a generational player and hasn't entered his prime. We need that 3rd midfielder to finish it off. Fermin has proven to be decent but he isn't really a midfielder. Olmo is not nearly as bad as the haters say but again he is often injured or out of form. We need dependable more than streaky players.
Enter Gavi. It's his chance to start to deliver. I truly think he can lock the 3rd spot down and be a fine player bordering between very good and occasionally world class if used correctly. Flick pressing requirements should make him easy to fit into the plans as well.
