6 - Gavi

He is decent but not essential.

If we can sell him and get good money I would not be against it.

I don't think he is CAM or CDM. He is more box-to-box.

Sell Gavi and get someone good to rest Pedri.

Bernal and Casado are really decent, De Jomg, Olmo, Fermin, Pedri, and player with right profile would be really profile wise compatible.
Agree with what you wrote but I don't think he will leave or that the club will try to get him to leave as long as he has a place in the squad.
Him having a sub role is not a problem, but the issue is that he might be too valuable financially to leave him in that kind of position.

Another thing to add is he's approaching the age where he should be starting regularly and learning his position, not being put on the bench here. I don't think he will ever be good enough to be a starter for us in the long term given Barcelona standards but he could be a resident squad player. The question is, business wise, is that better for us rather than selling him? I don't think so.

Probably, we could replace him with someone cheaper and have a lot of spare money. Sadly this isn't FM, unless he is told he has no role in the team he won't leave.

The thing is, now is the best time possible to cash on him (before the injury would have been better, I know). There is still a bit of hype about him. But people will soon realize his limitations, and it will be too late.

And its not really his quality i doubt. Its his profile. I would rather have someone who can keep up on the counter, win aerial duels and keep the ball.

I wonder where he fits long term.

Moving on from him for a hefty fee would be the best case scenario, as useful as he might be.

Years years upon years and the big question is.. what does Gavi contribute to the team exactly now that we have an overload midfielders? I might argue he s the only one who has no added value. Shame because he looked very promising at 17.

Goes to PSG to satisfy LE's lusture for a Spanish toy, ends up back at Betis after a few seasons failing to cement a spot.

Plays incredible, Barcelona fans want him back.

I'd say that could be a potential timeline.

He needs a complete reset in the summer. He didn't play for a year, so his lack of rythm is understandable this season. But he needs to start performing and find his position in Flick's system in pre-season. Next season will count for him.

Having seen how we'll he's played the last few games where he got good minutes, people are still asking questions?.

Stunning.

He'll be like a new signing next season, will be a lot more involved.

I like that flick didn't risk him too much in these high intensity games vs inter and Madrid.

Good squad management for once

He's not played well when coming in but that's not a much of a criticism, he's subbed on and the midfield dynamic that has generally been dominating is shifted, particularly if he's subbed for Pedri. Or we're ahead and it's the latter stage of the game where the opponent tries a bit harder to score. I guess this season was just about not getting injured again, still only 20 so in theory plenty more to see. Would like to actually see that next year though.

Fermin is more hot and cold but fermin upper ceiling is a lot higher then gavi's, as it seems. He needs to kick ass this summer, and he needs to step up and develop/bring skillset on table that elevate him to next leel. His skillset and only trait is "tough guy", and if that remains like this he dont have a chance to get in that mf spot

He plays more CAM then CDM.

He should be good on the ball, and better to rest Pedri, but it seems Flick does not see him as one to rest De Jong and Pedri.
