6 - Gavi

Talk that it will be difficult for Gavi to get into the 11 this season. Still young, but 21 come early August, not young enough for the excuses he has been getting for his short comings previously. It's business time now.

Long season ahead but I would play Olmo and Fermin ahead of him at AMC, and Frenkie, Pedri, Casado and Bernal potential ahead of him at pivot.

Basically the odd man out.

If ends the season behind all of them, realistically, what could we fetch for him, and where?

Cole Palmer left City at 21 to play more with just 19 league games for City and no league goals under his belt. He went for 40 million pounds.

Meanwhile Gavi has 6 goals and 12 assists in LaLiga over 108 games.
50-60m is probably his current price. He would have cost 80-90 after first breaking through, but he's slowed down a lot in his progression and has a major injury on record.

I'd be happy enough with 60m, that is, if we actually receive that. He will probably ask to leave after 1-2 seasons more.

We gave de Jong excuses until he was 28, he has plenty of time, but he's return from a ACL injury thats a 12-18 months recovery time after start playing and running out of "excuses" come on buddies

But he doesn't need any though, he's showed his class and last season after his injury, put up a lot of "numbers and stats" games that when others do the same, it's raved about and stats immediately posted lol.

But his main competition in a 4231 is pedri and that's a fight few we will.

433 baby!!, and he's our 2nd best Midfielder easily after pedri, still is in 4231, but competing with arguably the best Midfielder in the world then.

His best bet is to find place in mf with fdj and pedri. Thats how it should be, on paper potential is huge, but paper doesnt play. His ideal path is that flick somehow starts to play with false 9(olmo- fermin) other then that... dont know. He has everything but needs to get rid of that tough guy mantra because he's an easy target.

Gavi is perfect fit for a team which wants to press and fight for every ball. Hound ball is made for him. Yes, he needs to think a bit more about positions and his aggression, but overall this is player Flick wants. I think Gavi will be very good this season. Let's see!

This season is very important for him. Imo he doesn't have to reach his peak but he needs to show clear positive signs that he is getting better.

If he still is this all bark no bite player in 12 months then we need to think about selling if there is a market for him. He needs to dust off his creative side which he showed glimpses of when he first broke through.

If he shows that he is not good enough, there won‘t be a market. But he is. I just think we should not renew de yong if we don’t sell casado
