Cubarsi has never shown anything to be a starting defender at 17. We were in a desperate situation and had to play him and he did okay with Inigo.

It was childish to think that we had found our starting CB in this kid. I don't see the insane 'talent' others here see and nor is he a physical specimen that needs time to learn defending.

I have no problem waiting till he's 22 to judge him , thats fine. He just can't be playing for us as a starting CB while we're waiting.

I would try Eric-Martin for a while. I think it's worth a shot.

Yes, and it is good timing now with easier games coming up. Can easily be benched at least 2 games in a row.
If anything a mental reset would be good for him.

Pedri could've helped also. But it's mostly on Cubarsi for not marking his man and doing some stupid shite instead. Kounde sees it and goes to block that player, but in return leaves Oyarzabal at the far post with too much space. By the time he goes to him it is too late.

Cubarsi should be between Garcia and Kounde, having his man in front of him. He does this basic thing right, and it's easy to solve.

A 4 vs 3 for us, and because some players do stupid things... we concede.

At this point, I'd rather move Kounde next to Garcia in CB and play Cancelo RB. See how it goes for a run of games. Nobody can play worse as a CB than Cubarsi and Araujo for us.
