Honestly though, if Vermaelen can stay fit, healthy, and in good form, I think our defense is pretty solid. Besides the need to buy a new RB, our CB situation seems not-too-bad. One player I would like as Mascherano replacement personally is Emre Can, I think he has the profile to play that CB/DM hybrid role.

Guy is made of glass. Out best bet is to slowly bring him into training sessions at the end of this season. Then hopefully, he'll be 100% by training camp and be a productive member of the team. With our and his luck, he'd get reinjured on his debut this season.


The entire deal pissed me off but he wasn't a horrible CB and can bring something different to the team. I just hope Barto doesn't try to be cute and rush him for this season.

For sure, at least one more season at Pool. After that, we'll see. If he shows potential we shouldn't wait too long, Masch is not getting any younger and no point in waiting until his net worth skyrockets.

Emre Can Guy is so mediocre even Leverkusen sold him. Liverpool is where he belongs, average player for an average team.

Can is decent, but too slow over the first few yards and nowhere near good enough on the ball for a club like Barca. He'll evolve surely, but Barcelona quality? I say very unlikely.
