21 - Frenkie de Jong

Frenkie doesn't really step up in the most difficult games so I'm not as worried as if Pedri were missing.

Probably Barcas best player overall across games v Real since last 4/5 years.

Was best player after Yamal v Inter in CL semis and best player after Pedri the round before.

Was Barcas best player v Real in Supercup final.

Was after Pedri the best v Newcastle.

Plenty of big games plays well in.

None of them play well in all of them.

Frenkie De Jong, the player who is like a musician that plays 5 instruments ok, but not a single one at great level.

It's sometimes the curse of having talent.

Yet can be far better than likes of Raphinha in CL QF and SF and v Newcastle etc.

Top stuff.

Go tell us all how over rated Yamal is and use games like Betis the team played 'oh so well' in without him.

Not strong enough to be a ball playing CB, not defensively alert enough to be a DM, not creative enough to be a playmaker, not enough goal threat to be a box to box like a Rakitic.

You'll watch Frenkie at 31 and think that this guy could be up to something. But years pass and he remains the same. Teams need players that can do a bit of everything but they are never one of the main ingredients in the mix.

Serghie who used to pine for likes of Arthur and Riqui 'top talent' Puig and claimed Gavi was better than Pedri.

Not a clue what a midfielder looks like.

All those weaknesses and can outperform likes of Raphinha in biggest games.

Top stuff.

Go tell us again how 'slow, weak and over rated' Pedri is.

 your anger is somewhat telling me deep down you know it's true. It's not the end of the world. Frenkie is just not the elite differential type. Extremely few players are.

And when you support Barcelona, considering the midfielders we had, his limitations are even more obvious.

You are the angry one chief.

Your beloved Xavi would have had a double if Frenkie stayed fit and likes of Raph not woeful as lost 4-0 to Real.

Likes of Raph can start by being one of the top players in CL games and not inferior to Frenkie in every KO round as last season.

Now is his time.

Go tell us again how great Arthur/Puig are and how Gavi is better than Pedri.

Cry again about how weak/slow and over rated Pedri is.

Meh, if anything the recent trashings we took make Xavi look better in hindsight. You were the one who thought losing to Frankfurt was an incredible disaster, and yet with a much better team we lost worse vs a disturbed Sevilla.

Xavi conceded 0 goals away to AM btw. Flick took 4 in 30 mins. Football is funny when you think you have all figured out like you do.

Your points get worse as go on.

Frankfurt was an utter disaster for a ton of reasons. Xavi failed by time as did near on every time in Europe.

Would have got a double had Frenkie stayed fit though and not likes of Raphinha wilting v Real.

Nothing changes on that.

Frenkie better in every CL knock out round last year than Raphinha and league decider v Real..

Thats Raphy the 'big game player'.

Of all the players you decided to hate on, you picked Raphinha, the hardest worker and de facto captain of the team.

This must be one of your worst.

Hamstring in training? Come on... amateur hour.
Sorry but this is a bit too reactionary and incosistent honestly. When Dembele was getting hamstring injuries in matches, lack of intensity and max effort sprints in training was blamed.

Now Frenkie pulls his hamstring in training, and he is an idiot for what? Training with too much intensity?

Hamstring injuries are incredible common for a reason, and so much money and effort is being put into research on how to prevent them. There's a reason for it, they're hard to prevent and it's difficult even for professionals to say with certainty why someone pulls a hamstring.

Pretending to know why one is getting injured on a internet forum without any insight knowledge or any kind of medical degree shows a clear lack of humility and knowledge on the topic.

I rate Raphinha as one of four best in team.. easy comeback when you put so much focus on him as 'ultimate big game player'.

Frenkie was better than him in every CL KO round last season and in league decider v Real.. also came on to change game in the Bernabeu 4-0 win.

You picked Arthur.. you picked Puig.. you pick Gavi as better than 'over rated' Pedri.

Pedri who is 'too slow and weak to ever be elite'.

Top stuff.
