I was eager to see us in a big game with squad fully fit for first time this season

But alright, we simply have terrible luck when it comes to injuries

He was shit at intense pressing Chelsea game, where we hoped he would "control the midfield" so no big loss. Pirueting around only works for afficionados of ballet among small town spanish intelligencia. Doesn't matter who he is replaced with, as long as Pedri is there. Everything in our midfield hinges on laters performance anyway.

While Pedri was poor v PSG, Real, Sevilla, Girona and others but dont let truth get in the way.

It happens.

'Control the midfield'

A year ago vs a far worse Monaco team Pedri fairly 'controlled' the game right enough.

Dejong never "controlled midfield" on his own, while always being utter trash defensively, so Pedri not controlling it just means Dejong is disposable garbage, who can be easily replaced with literally anyone from lamasia as long as Pedri is there. Best future strategy, try to sell Dejong for decent price and get decent, but less premium "actual DM" with qualities that complement Pedri better. Pedri can monopolize all the piruetes. What he needs is an actual warrior to back up the mid defensive line.

Looking for mistakes in Pedris game and shitting on him, like that is some excuse for Frenkies showing in big games.

You can spin the narrative as much as you want, the fact is Pedri is a level above Frenkie, no team and coach in the world would take Frenkie over him.
