Yes, come next season, if Bernal is fine and dandy, he should be ahead of Casado. And we can even think of selling Casado.

Also with Gavi. As you mentioned later, I don't think we should consider him as the DM backup. Everything he has shown as of yet, he is a CM. Let's wait till he plays some matches and then formulate if he is an adequate backup as a DM.

So for that, I would say Casado should be the main Backup for FDJ, while Gavi should be for Pedri.

Bernal when fit will be ahead of Casado.

Gavi folk decided by form whether he was fit or not.. when played well first back it was all about how good he was and ready to start.. when it dipped all about knee injury.

ACL is around a year and then a few months to get match fitness. Seen it time and again with players coming back from that injury.

There is a fair chance that folk build up how good Bernal was before and claim he is not fit if doesnt reach level they think he was at though.

Gavi has spoken about being '6 and 8' and discussions with Flick and he was better than Casado last game.

Gavi is a bet for Barca and his development needs to be deeper the club realise that.

Casado has been fairly shite for Barca with Pedri in 2025 since Supercopa and had dipped in form prior to that in league.

Was Barca 2nd best player played there with freedom under Koeman and was top in the season before Xavi went to four midfielders and in Xavis previous season played well there.

Let me guess... Fermin and Casado are better than Gavi and Frenkie.

Top stuff.

He was better than Pedri in Xavis league win season and in Koemans first etc.

Always said Pedri could over take him when Pedri plays deeper but wasted far too often by Xavi to get best from him.

Some folk claimed Gudogan and Gavi better deeper than Pedri and 'Pedri has to be the most advanced midfielder'.

Same folk who claimed Gavi is irreplaceable while La Masia while create a new Pedri in a few years.

Not a clue and about worst shout going.

To be fair Frenkie was better v Real in the league decider and in the CL semi final etc and many other games.. including the very last Barca game.

Frenkie also clearly better in the NL v Spain games.. if folk want to continue to think Nations League matters.

Pedri better overall last season though.

Probably renew but would be a better move for his career to leave would think.

Fair play either way.

Barca would replace him and not rely on likes of Casado so no worries there.
