Every squad has weaker players. For now he looks ok, and isn't a problem in the dressing room and doesn't demand an astronomical wage. He seems happy to be there and will do what Flick tells him. Coaches love players like that who are 'obedient' (strong word but you get me).

He might still prove a disaster in future, but for now he's doing ok. Long-term though he's likely backup if Barca wanna really be the dominant team in Europe.
