17 - Marc Casadó

That 5/6 months of casado was some legendary stuff considering he was coming from the 3rd division, I liked him in the pre season, but he was damn near the best DM in the world for 5/6 months, cooking against Bayern and Madrid.

Better than anything Nico did so far as porque said.

Nico is better than Casado and would have more of what top clubs are looking for.

Casado was fairly average at best after October when Barca were struggling then poor in games in January after Supercopa and he wasnt starting all games in Sept either.

This idea he played well for 6 months is far from reality.

Even games against Bayern etc are overblown as Barca really didnt have much midfield control in that game and scored on break although great pass for Raphinha goal.

legendary?

Revisionism much?

Cost the game against Betis by grabbing unnecessary red when 2-0 up with 8 minutes left to play. He did apologize tbf(Araujo looking at you)

Also made error which allowed atletico to equalize. They ended up winning the game.

Just saw that he finished with 6 assist all comps

Pedri has 8
De Jong 2
Gavi 3

That's playing less games that all 3, his eye for the forward pass is what I like most about him at DM.

OMG he has two bad games, as a player who got promoted from the 3rd division and no one saw this level coming from him.

He also cooked against the likes of Bayern and Madrid, beats anything against betis.

With that context he did some legendary stuff, unless you foresaw him replacing your favourite player for 5 months without any notice drop on the teams performance

Give the kid his flowers.

Yes. I am giving him credits. He did a good job considering it’s his debut season. But legendary is pushing it

The team clearly increased in performance once FDJ got fit.

They were 7 points off Real and barely won a league game in months with Casado not great.

Nothing close to legendary. He had one month of good form really and games against Bayern/Real he was good but not amazing and Barca did not have huge control of the midfield in either game with Pedri/Casado pairing in way Flick wants.

He has played 1 min less than Frenkie and Gavi played 800 min less

So he played less and has more assist, like I said?

Wasn't a dig at your boy or gavi, just a matter of fact, he's a better passer from deep, or at least more willing to take risk with his passes.

Yea legendary stuff, if he never kicks another ball for Barca, he can always say for those 5 months I took my opportunity with both hands and left my park.

A short, slow, DM from the 3rd division.

He takes more risk in game yeah. He’s more attacking oriented.. But has also been caught having to make sliding tackle to win ball back near edge of box.

Bit of trade-off. But considering lack of experience at top level, he really held his own.

He played well for one month and nothing amazing at that.

September he was ok and didnt play all games. Some good games in October where against Bayern still lacked midfield control.

From middle of October on he was poor and average a lot then the same in January.

To an extent but assists have to be finished off... FDJ had higher expected assists..just...more key passes and far more passes forward, into final third and into box while also carrying ball forward more.

Casado is a bit like Puig in that he would make first pass forward he sees but is not helping Barca go forward with more quality overall but can be good in moments it comes off. Flick has spoken about how he wants FDJ to help Barca control game more and slow game down when needed but he also has the other side.

Also don't forget his celebration with the ultra's after the title win

Legendary, his name will echo in Barca for a decade.

Casado the prince who never was.
