13 - Joan García

I think what also makes a difference is that Joan looks so much more mobile and acrobatic in terms of movements when it comes to making saves and how he's able to pull off some incredible shit.

Ter Stegen on the other hand, had a bad history with knee and back injuries even when he was much younger as well which also takes a toll on his movements and mobility over time.

Not to excuse Ter Stegen's other brainfarts but I think part of his issues was exactly what I said above.

So this is what it feels like to have "a courtois" in a goalkeeper position ?

It's been so long since Barcelona has had a a very good goalkeeper.

His tranfert price was a steal.

I'm crying right now, he is a world class goalkeeper.

Yup. winning games you shouldn't when you have such a keeper

I think you can't win CL nowadays without such a keeper.
Tiny margins make huge differences in high-level KOs

A lot of saves that commentators go crazy about aren't really all that great at all when you watch the replay. But, I have been watching football a long time, and I can't remember seeing many saves better than that one from the header.

If that doesn't win Save of The Season, there is something very very wrong. Getting your hand to it is hard enough, but then to somehow also have the ability to flick it over the bar as well is different gravy.

In truth, it really is one of the greatest saves in football history.

Hopefully he will change how this clubs looks at goalkeepers. It’s a position we have neglected and not prioritized for as long as I remember. Like we still do with defenders. Look at RM’s recent CL campaigns, Dibu for Argentina etc. A great GK can change everything.

Which is a bit stupid because you can buy goalkeepers usually for a fair price and they can .and a huge difference for the team.
