Garcia deserves to be Spain's main GK. Though DLF may have his reason. I mean, when he picked Cucu as his LB in Euro instead of Grilmado, most doubted him but look how it turned out.

The way football is heading in recent times will help Garcia case.
Teams are pumping set pieces into box from a lot deeper. Teams are defending them deeper also so more scope for GKs to claim ball.
Also corners.. current trend swung in right on top of GK and loaded with players attacking that area.
Long throws.
Garcia with his height and way looked claiming balls last season for Espanyol could well be as well equipped as any GK in world for that and much more so than Simon and Raya.
Helps when he can get down low like Buffon and good on ball also.

Simon is having a bad start of the season, but he is a very underrated GK and he was one of the best in the World in the past few years, it goes unnoticed due to the club he is playing for.
GK like that will always have the trust of NT when he is performing well there, which Simons did fairly well for around half decade, he had the full trust of Lucho and LDF and it will take a lot to takeover his spot. NT coaches are always like that, they are usually loyal to their guys due to the nature of international football (they meet every month at best, or even few months).
Joan is only 4 years younger, it might take far more than people expect for him to be the starting GK for Spain, if it ever happens.

This was by far his worst game here tbh, he was pretty underwhelming .
