13 - Joan García

Has to make a good save all night - Lisan al Gaib!

I'd wager Pope's save from Olmo's shot was harder to pull off than Garcia's for Barne's shot.

All in all a solid performance, but don't see what's "masterclass" or "immense" about that.

This is what I have been screeching the whole summer.

A goalkeeper who saves one or two of the numerous chances we will eventually concede, because of our style.
And a tall fast CB, who also does the same.
And with that, we have 3-4 saves a game, which is all we need to win a CL night.

Ok compliments to the club

Although, honestly.. it wasn't that difficult of a choice. Catalan and whole world was talking about him. There is only 1 big club he can join

But they still could have done some stupid shit like opting for the french dude or god forbid trusting the al qaeda

What I see in him is a high degree of talent. It's more than just mentality imo. I have watched him so far, and his movement in goal is incredible. The way he catches low crosses for example, fuck it's good, lightning fast in going down from standing position. No dumb spills, no punching shots that can be caught. Leaves nothing to chance. The way to beat him at the moment is with a thunder strike under the bar like Rayo, or a penalty like situation like Gordon.

He will make mistakes at times, but it's possible we just locked in a vulnerable squad position, a known Achiles heel for us for years and years.

Got lucky he popped up at a great price, with great age when we needed it, right in our city . Now if we could find a CB and a LB like that also... at that price point... would be a dream.

and he was brave enough to make the move.

A lot of teams these days are huge and putting set pieces right on top of the GK. He has the height, reactions and bravery to not be phased by it.

Doubt there is a new LB on the agenda with Balde, Gerard and Jofre to come.

At centre back would imagine they will splash on LCB if can.

Likes of Van de Ven but probably ask for 100m odd. Teams in EPL just dont need to sell and so much money at stake if they do and get it wrong.

True. Sounds surreal, but trying to find a weakness so far and nothing. Even his foot game is solid.

Will probably make some big error from time to time, but even Courtois and Alisson have those at times.

That's good, imo LCB is key priority now. If we find one who can cover LB also... even better.

Just start with the right physical profile and make a list of talents. Tallish, fast, good mentality.

Van De Ven played LB for the Dutch before. Has the pace and left foot for it.

Huge jump obviously and not massively tall but Cortes been impressive for Atletic side at LCB and has power to his game. Maybe he gets a chance by time cup games come round.
