11 - Raphinha

Said no one.

Go back to trying to give credit to Raphinha for Burn almost shanking in a clearance not going to any Barca player.

Or for Trippier falling on ball and a 5 yds pass to Fermin.

Well, in a game where we were shite offensively, we take what we can get. It was one of our biggest chances.

This wasn't one of those games Yamal saved the day. Yamal was even worse than Raphinha. In the pocket of his opponent the whole time, barely made anything worth remembering outside scoring the pen.
No Yamal wasn't worse than Raphinha today

But I'm not even saying this

I'm saying that in PSG game he created several outrageous chances. Vs Madrid he served Kounde on plate for an equalizer. Vs Chelsea he created a goal for Torres

Nobody gave him credit. And general consensus is he has been shit in all these games. And he was. So let's not try to relativize it for Raphinha and praise him for making some ordinary passes while being awful in every department of the game. At least not if we hold them both to same standards, but clearly we do not

Raphinha will never be as good as last year again but he also will regain form soon and get out of this bad spell. Next week should really be the start I hope

He will never be good as last year cause he stopped putting in the worn like last year.

I'd sell him immediately if we could go and get Yildiz or another potentially great LW. Not many out there though and not many available either.

Imo two main issues currently.

1. His finishing is off. He was so extremely clinical and lethal in front of the goal last season. What went in close to the bar last season, he misses closely this season. Might have something to do with his injury but can also be mental. I hope he finds back to his mindset from last season and becomes that lethal Samurai he was last season. He brought so many happy moments to us fans with it.

2. He doesn't come as much in these 1v1 or 2v1 positions as did last season and I don't think this is only his own fault. Surely we are missing Inigo's passing from the back, but that can't be the only reason. Ferran with all his current issues is neither getting as much in these positions as did last season. Something is off in team's ball distribution compared to last season.
