FDJ may just be our most replaceable superstar.

Nah he isnt. The drop off is big.

Folk love to say this when lose with Frenkie then ignore when lose or losing with Pedri and no Frenkie against likes of Real Oviedo, Vallodolid, Leganes, Monaco, Las Palmas, Benfica etc.

Barca were 7 points off of Real in league before Frenkie fit last season and he is in general better v Real Madrid than Pedri is.

Both are hugely important to be on form and fit.

Pedri was shite in last game v Sparta Prague for example and Frenkie levels above in game had to win.. Pedri goes off and team improves to win the game.

If that happened other way round never hear end of it.

There are a ton of games Pedri has struggled or not been same without Frenkie also. Works both ways.

If not FDJ, which player would you prefer?

Another example.

Frenkie plays poorly with 10 men v Chelsea.

Folk go on about it for weeks how much misses Pedri.

Pedri plays poorly against a worse Monaco team with 10 men a year earlier... no one bothers about who is missed and its 'what do you expect Pedri to do'.

Pedri struggles v Oviedo as Barca losing at HT. this season. Frenkie comes on takes over game, assists and win. Same happens v Benfica. Same v Real away in Bernabue as win 4-0 in 2nd half last season.

Even worst team in league last season Vallodolid.. Pedri toiling and losing. Off for Frenkie at HT and win 2-1.

Plenty more examples.

Imagine the narrtive and meltdown after all those games if other way round.

It's unreasonable to depend on him to carry us on the effort and intensity department for 50 games a season, while most of the others are there for the nicer parts, tricks, flicks, back heels and such. And when it's time to answer fire with fire, they bail out.

Trying to add nuance to something as obvious as Raphinha being a critical part of this team, and that we are obviously worse without him, never made sense..
