Do y'all feel like we miss those passes from the last year when Raphinia had like 20 runs behind the opp. backline and Inigo, Cubarsi, Pedri, De Jong, Casado used to pass over the defense or those runs were creating more space between the lines? I feel like we miss that dynamic of the game and is more positioned attack and when we meet teams that defend on 2 lines .. it's hard to open the game. It was more direct last year.

As import as Raphinha is Barca have prior to tonight won 10 of last 11 league games and Raphinha contributed 3 goals and 1 assist from open play in that time.
Even the last game v Espanyol he was poor and went off at 0-0 before the subs came on to win it for Barca.
Its an easy narrative to say all about missing Raphinha but that game tonight was an anomoly.
Prior to tonight had won 5 of last 6 league games he hadnt played in and that one was away to Real.
Had scored 5 away to Betis, 4 away to Celta and 4 at home to Ath Bilbao.
On another day Barca hammer Sociedad and the same players missing chances tonight are usually productive.

Yeah, I like our chances better with someone who can put the ball in the corner with power, not shoot it straight at the keeper. Accidents like these probably don't happen.
To score 1 goal with the plethora of chances we had, it takes some special type of shite finishing.
At least Espanyol played a great game and shut us down. Sociedad didn't even defend well.

Raphinha also went off in last game in league at 0-0 v Espanyol where barely looked like scoring.
Took others to come on and score to win that game.
All players Raphinha included have these games. Its too simplistic to make out he plays tonight and doesnt happen.

Yeah, the difference was Espanyol played a top defensive match. Sociedad didn't. This match? Of course we win it with Raphinha on. Probably easiest win in quite a while.

They were not 'top defensively' after Raphinha off and Barca scored twice.

That was a match where they shut us down in midfield and we barely created any chances. This was a match where we created for fun but we had nobody to provide the finishing touch.
To lose a match like this where Yamal alone set up at least 3-4 easy goals... takes some doing.

Raphinha can miss, this is not the point, but not everything like that, one after another, after another. He will miss one, then score the 2nd or the 3rd. Happened vs AM, Madrid, he missed a big one, but scored the other or the others. With the volume of chances we had, Raphinha wins this for us probably.

Created chances and scored twice AFTER he went off.. improved that game after he went off.
Raphinha has scored from open play in league in 2 of his last 8 games and the same players that missed chances tonight have like Raphinha good stats overall.

Also talking inches in offside goals that were finished and penalties being one.
It was a bizarre one off game.
Could argue Barca dont create as many if Raphinha plays also.
It is too much to make out can barely win without him. It isnt the case.

I have a feeling we'd see more one offs like that if Raphinha were to get injured. And keep in mind Sociedad defended like crap. Almost as bad as Bilbao in the Supercup.

As would be the same for just about any of the attacking players.
Has to be the case or shouldnt be there.
Same players scored 12 goals in last 3 games Raphinha didnt start in league in relatively tougher fixtures away to Betis, Celta and Ath Bilbao.
Barca were excellent tonight from box to box. There is nothing to say Barca play as well with Raphinha on that side of it or create so many either.
Barca as a team are not spiking massively in game Raphinha starts compared to doesnt in terms of goals either.
