Would this fomation work at all? You would give Messi all the freedom he needs and it would work well as he loves to drift into the centre. The right wing isnt exposed anymore as dembele is in his preferred position. Upfront you would have Saurez/ Greizmann.

You could put defensive midfielders behind messi to cover his lack of tracking back..or put Frankie alongside Busquets/ Vidal.

Argentina play this. Meh overall.

Works for Brazil becasue they habe workhorses like Fernandinho, and casemiro covering

De Jong covers a ton of ground, as does Griezmann. What about adding Ndombele or one of Atletico's rangy box to box midfielders or someone like them. So then your midfield is like Arthur, Ndombele & De Jong, with Vidal and Busi coming in as subs (70 min marks) depending on the situation. Busi to slow it down--grind with a lead, Vidal if you are tied or down and continue high pressure and more attacking/high-risk high reward set up.

Certainly should be better with pereyra in there. Another top player from a top league. Should play aguero though. He just needs a goal or a good game for some confidence

Aguero is crap in every tournament. Baffling as he's great for City.

Guardiola is in a different solar system to every manager he's had at the Argentina NT.

Well, Aguero was great at club level under shittier managers than Pep. Can't really blame it only on the coaches, which is true that they were all shite for Argentina

Aguero doesnt normally do well for Argentina cause they've always had a shitty coach and a shitty system. No player thrives in a system in a mess like Argentina's. Not even the GOAT.

Fairly sure Argentina was playing with 4-3-3?

I think this system has a good chance with the work rate of Frankie as mentioned.

If neymar does come back then the left and right wing (dembele) will actually be pretty decent!

Regardless of the system though we need to get rid of dead weight like saurez, raki and coutinho, otherwise none of this works

Busi, Sergi and Semedo are far inferior players and bigger weaknesses than Suarez.

Busi and Sergio are on par with Suarez man not more. Suarez role is to score goals and help the other forwards so that we dont have messi dependance. FFS the dude cant even keep/ hold up the ball well anymore. If the onus falls on messi to score all the time and drag this sorry ass of team all the way to the final how do you think that works? Considering hes the most marked out player in today's game, this is why we end up in the situation we have last 3-4 years.

If Suarez had scored some of the chances put for him then we wouldnt have had to worry about busi and sergios shitty performances.

He was still one of the best in the league with Mancini and Pellegrini and then a passenger for Argentina.

City were a mess at times under those managers.
