Biggest mistake of his career was not playing for Spain instead, he's gonna suffer until he retires playing for that crappy Argentina NT... He needed jewels as his midfielders but he got crappy ones, he had worldclass fowards but they always shit the bed..

He should've chose Spain, fuck that patriotism BS to play for Argentina as they've never even remotely appreciated him. It is a huge mistake, the one he should always regret. Never should've come out of retirement for them either, might as well take vacations every summer as there is no chance of winning a trophy with them. None at all.
Given how shit the Barca situation is, he might as well retire from club football too or move away. We're miles away from RM and QSG are better on paper now and probably on the pitch too considering how shit we are. Messi's had a great career, no point in extending it for 4-5 more years of straight suffering and disappointment just to win maybe 1-2 more CDR's at best. The cost/benefit for his legacy simply isn't worth it to keep playing football.

With the state our midfield is in, I think we have to put him there. Up front, we have Dembele and Suarez (we'll just have to hope he regains his form).

I`m sorry, but this is just wrong. He loves Argentina and plays for Argentina with passion. That`s how it should be for every player and not shit like Diego Costa playing for Spain.
Yes, it would`ve been easier for him if he played for Spain, but that`s not the point of international football.
Also, playing for Spain would`ve been IMO the thing that would hurt his legacy. Abandoning his native country NT to play for Spain with a dream team.

It looks like argentina have got no chance of winning the world cup if they get there. They dont play as a team and everyone else that receives the ball doesn't know what to do with it. I know some people say he should have played for Spain, but I'm happy he didn't. Yes, he probably would have won multiple world cups but to win something with Argentina would mean so much more to him.
