10 - Lamine Yamal

Horatio

You're welcome
This 'lack of intelligence and personality problem' all come from the media, who, the moment he hit 18, turned on him the very next day with the dwarfgate bullshit.

His composure on pitch is telling of a high intelligence. Never seen a calmer player enduring those knocks.

Doue has Hakimi, the best RB in the world as support, Lamine has Kounde; a CB turned RB. Doue also has the best midfield itw plus super saiyan version of Dembele in attack vs Yamal having washed Lewa and Tuna.. if you put Lamine in this PSG team, he and the rest of the team would go up a level.
Psg is better now than with a ballhogger Neymar or without Mbappe.

Teams usually either play as a team without superstars or they have one superstar who somewhat slows down the play and touches the ball in every action.

I'll post one highlight video from the days when Neymar was absolute shit and annoying in our shirt.
In this video, he ruined like 20 actions and then made 2 good key passes.
Some fans will say: he is the only one who made things happen.
Yeah, lol. When he takes the ball in every single action and no one gets the ball back anymore once when he gets the ball.

Some fans love these type of footballers who lose 20 balls, cause 10 counters against our team and then make 2 good passes.
I personally hated Neymar and I see a lot of similarities in Yamal.
At least for now Yamal isn't rolling on the floor and making backwards dribbles towards our goal.

Anyway, a video of Yamal's footballing idol:

Yes I remember you preferred Pedro over Neymar and were mocked on here for that take

Nobody pays overpriced tickets to watch Pedro play for Barca.

Special talents have their purpose and should be the drivers of club success.

Some of them being lazy bums with fucked up life out of football is a risk that club is ready or not to take, and keep it under control if possible.

can’t wait to hear bullshit like how he’s playing bad coz he’s “fasting”

Ramadan is all PR

This is what say overweight nerds who would die if they went more than 30min without any snacks or coca colacola

Let alone 11-12 hours without water and food lol

It won't affect Lamine's performance though. Ramadan more often makes players perform better than otherwise

Btw: first meal is not huge at all. Most people can't even eat that early.

9 times out of 10, you're better off selling players that lose the ball a lot.

You need an absurd amount of talent to tolerate losing the ball cheaply. Yamal is nowhere near that treshold where it is acceptable to lose the ball stupidly and have the entire team under stress because of it. Nowhere near in big games.

He can progress, sure, but as of now, he's not worth the hype.

Fooball is entertainment, yes.

But in terms of results, back in the Neymar's days, I used to post a lot of stats.
He was meh except in 2014/15 seasons.
In other seasons, results wise, the team had the same or better results without him on the field.
Also, on the "eye test", the team played way more fluent, faster and as a team when he wasn't on the field.

Also, in almost every season, he had "a spring break" period in April and May when he would have like 1 goal in 10 matches and horrible displays.

Back then, the community had similar replies like for the current Yamal like: the whole team is bad, he is the only one who is making things happen.

Also, Yamal is showing some similar issues like dribbling past 4-5 defenders.
Even though, if 5 defenders are around you, then there surely must be free teammates on the left in 2 vs 1 situations.
In the extra time against Inter, he was trying to dribble past 4 defenders over and over even though some of our players were free and umarked on the left.

For now, Yamal still has some end product.
But if he'll continue in Neymar's path, he will soon become a showman with solo actions and tricks for Instagram and TikTok reels without too much impact on actual results.

But since kids and casual users love superstar dribblers (even if their end product is meh, like in Neymar's case), it will generate a lot of money, sponsor deals, shirt sales, followers, Instagram videos etc.

So, regarding your comment about Pedro, I agree.
1) if a player like Yamal will bring titles = the club will get both a posterboy and results
2) if a player will play so-so = he is still better than Pedro because he will bring more fans, clicks, buzz and money.

So, even if Yamal's game will deteriorate a lot, we will watch him as a starter and posterboy for years.

Football is an entertaining business and both football, music and movies are always driven by teen fans.

And apparently, teen football fans adore a showboating type of football played by Neymar and Yamal.

Winning is what football is about at the top. This has always been amusing to me. Losing is never fun. So, by default, if you lose a lot, you are not entertaining for any rational fan. Sure, some will depoly some excuses that makes not winning fine, but in the end, this is the definition of delusion.

You need some individual quality at the biggest stage if you want to compete. Barça fans have pretty much always had it, so they are not ready what it feels like when you make a superteam with 11 players who work hard and give everything for the team, but all of them more or less suck and can't do anything when faced vs real pure footballers. Just look at Arsenal, they lost the CL last season despite creating plenty chances and they will also lose it this season. A great tactically well drilled side but no real difference makers in the team

Yamal this season hasn't been the best in big games. Last season, he was easily the best Barça player in most of them. And this season is only halfway through, truly big games haven't really come yet.
