10 - Lamine Yamal

He loses far too many balls without much end product these days. At least he started to work harder off the ball since AM match.

He's still a very good player, but not quite as good as last season imo. Last season he was unplayable at times, and let's not forget goals, he scored a fair amount of superb goals. This season his shooting took a dive. Barely scored a decent goal. Shots that caught the top corner are skewing wide by meters. Nothing close to goals like vs Inter, Madrid 3 times, Espanyol and others.

From potentially the best in the world, this season we look incredibly dependent on Raphinha's end product, leadership, and off the ball work. And Pedri to some extent. Lamine is half as effective imo.

He was poor vs 3 best fullbacks he faced this season, Mendes, Cucurella and Carreras. His dribbling is a bit overrated vs elite opponents. He's nowhere near Messi level to take on 2-3 opponents routinelly. Come on... it is evident.

Solution to solve it simple. If he is drawing tigher marking that makes solo runs more difficult, release the ball faster since other players benefit from more spaces. He ain't doing that enough, he loves to do his tricks with the ball no matter how crowded it is. It looks good, but in bigger games it is counterproductive. Even if he is triple marked he will try to engage into complicated dribbling sequences and this generates too many issues for us.

We should play him less than what we are doing. This season he is drawing more passes and produces less magic. Takes way too many shots for a goal also.

His style can work vs mid to lower table Spanish sides in the form he is atm, but vs bigger sides, it's been rather tame, all bark and little bite.

He should stop taking on 3-4 defenders at once, but this isn't entirely his fault. Flick seems to be p good tactician, who have made several flexible changes that have improved our team and made several players better than we expected to. Time to find better synergy between team and Yams, as he's basically being cornered in no mans land every single time. Need to try more stuff with him and Baargee on the same lineup or switch some fullbacks in. Kounde is just an elephant, whom he can only play the "kick the ball at wall of the barn" routine. His tactical position should be altered fast as he's being so astutely marked that the ways of last season wont work anymore.

In big games this season I think he'll try Yamal centre

Bardghji is in fantastic form and we should seriously consider giving him more important roles. Should start by getting more minutes and more chances, then we'll see from there

Even, if he stays at current baseline, he's incredible asset. Just needs to maintain form and be correctly coached. Flick needs to adjust his positioning and get better partnership for link up.

He's at 1 G/A per game so far, 1.07 per 90. Very good.

Still expect a bit more from him outside G/A. His decision making has become a bit worse but I attribute this to him being young and still learning what works and what doesn't.

His biggest asset last year was his clutchness in big games, we haven't seen that so far, probably due to injuries. Still feels like he is trying to shake off rustiness.

I expect him to up his level 1-2 notches to absolute world class in coming months. We will need it.

Bad last few games for his standards but still a valuable asset to team considering his creativity which even on offdays generates few scoring chances for the team. It's normal for teenagers to have ups and downs, especially if he is still feeling that discomfort.

True, that's why I would like to see Pedri playing closer to him. He's probably the only one in the squad who can combine with Yamal on that level.

if only champagne recycling and tunnel vision had anything to do with tiki

no memorable combinations with Messi either when he was still at Barca

we/Yamal need Zirks asap
