I hope the goal record doesn't become an obsession in future. He's a wide winger, this type of player is not supposed to score 2-3 goals every game or two.

The simple logic of Ballon d'Or is it's awarded to the most influential player at a club that won the most trophies. Not the one who scored the most goals.

If Dembele can have a 30 goals+ season then Yamal surely can reach that too. Not if he plays as a hug the touchline winger though.

Let me take this moment to again praise him for his classiness on the pitch. Don’t know why it’s not picked up by media. He was targeted and betis players were trying to foul him, but he keeps his cool. Imagine it were posterboy Mbappe. And they would justify him lashing out if get fouled.

But it’s not just Lamine. Likes of Pedri as well. But Lamine has status of star player.

With his talent pool he needs to be versatile with regards to where he operates. I'd imagine any ambitious coach would try this. Good start in this position, he created quite a few good chances in transitions and linked up well by and large. Liked his pressing too.

Don't think it needs to be permanent but rather a good tactical option. He can be deployed in different positions based on the opposition and tactical setup. As a consequence assuming he is serious about adding it to his arsenal it will also improve his game understanding and link up overall not to mention his defensive play.

Hansi Flick: "Before the match I asked Lamine Yamal if he could play as an attacking midfielder, and he said yes. Roony deserved to start too, and he played a great game. Yamal was very good as a #10. He was good in defence too, and it freed up spaces for the other guys. He did fantastic and it's a new option we have to consider."

So Yamal did not even pratice in this position yet played so well.

Lucho moved Dembele to central more with false 9/hybrid winger-striker role that helped him a lot. His finishing suddenly was good last season too but i think the role is more important.

True. Yamal certainly needs to create better space/angle for his shot if he wants to score more goals. I think right now he still has problems finding or creating his angles.
