10 - Lamine Yamal

I have said a few months ago that he was one of the main reasons for our CL defeat.

Yes, his displays got us to the semis but then he ruined it.

1. before the Inter's match, he said (after Cdr win): we are Barca. Nobody can beat us. Even if we are losing 0:3, we will come back.

A few days later, he plays average in two matches.
In the 2nd leg he plays hero-ball football for 120 minutes as if it was his solo-match.
And let's never forget that counter in the last minutes when he has hit the post even though he had better options on the left.

The kid celebrates too early in almost every big match.
He probably loses too much mental strength and motivation on arguing on social media and by the time the match comes, his motivation is gone.

It feels as if he is more interested about arguing, stirring shit, what people think about him than about actual football matches and trophies.

He reminds me of Arthur in that sense.
Arthur came here and had 2-3 periods for 2-3-4 months when he played very good.
But the problem is that Arthur played well only when he was angry.
Examples:
1) when he came, Rakitic was a starter. Arthur got mad, played with 120%, earned his spot. But once when he became a starter, he lost motivation and started to play bad.
2) then he was benched for a few weeks, got mad again, played at 120% and earned his spot again. But once when he has earned his spot, he lost motivation again.
3) then he got injured and benched and got mad again.
But the problem is that in each new episode, his good periods lasted shorter and shorter until he was sold.

To some extent, I see some similarities in Yamal.
He doesn't seem to have "natural motivation" like Cr7, Modric etc.

He seem to have a motivation that comes only from moments when:
1) he is unknown
2) when he is fighting with someone
3) when we play against Real Madrid
4) when he wants to win Ballon D Or

In short: he has issues with healthy motivation and consistency.
From what he has shown till now, he will be some sort of Jekyll and Hyde type of a player:
1) in one month he will be angry and motivated
2) in the next month, he will be a non-factor on matches

Since he is our main player, with that type of a behavior, you can never rely on him in big CL knockout matches.

Some fans compared him with Messi.
But personality wise, Messi was humble and never bragged about his goals aged 17, 18, 19.

For a comparison, Yamal is aged 18 and 3 months and to some extent, it seems that he is already tired and burned out from fame and football.

Messi was aged 18 and 3 months under Rijkaard in 2005/06 season and he wasn't even a clear starter yet.
In that season, Messi and Guily were rotated as a Rw.
During that season Messi won his place but got injured in spring and missed CL quarters, semis and a final.

So, until the age of 19, Messi had only 2-3 CL knockout matches under his belt (iirc).
On a Wc 2006, he has barely played.

So, by the age of 19, Messi had a little CL or WC impact.
And even on a club level, he was still earning his spot and was far behind Ronaldinho and Etoo as club's superstars.

On the other hand, Yamal has already won too much and he is not "right" in his head anymore.

I mean, there are 100s of examples of Disney teen superstars who, in 90%, of cases ended as drug addicts or dead by the age of 30 due to becoming too famous too early and it messed with their mental health.

On top of that, we have Yamal who already seems to be losing his mind yet his surroundings are extremely bad and unhealthy (his family).

And social media and fans are worse than ever. Everyone is just waiting for fights, scandals, records.
The current era of social media is way more exhausting on mental health than era in 2005 or 2015.
Yet, Yamal is mentally weaker than superstars from 2005' or 2015'.

All in all, there is like 1% chance that Yamal will be anything even remotely close to Messi long term.

Imo, he will be closer to Neymar/Robinho/Adriano and he'll be (mentally) done by the age (23)-24-25.
Too young
Not tall enough
Not Athletic enough
Any reason I choose
Barely any evidence

What he said wasn't even so provoking imo, casual shit that these clubs say to each other all the time just not this direct

But media used it well and made it much bigger than it is so Madrid players had to act accordingly

RMTV says the same for Barca every week

See lots of guys in here are still defending him lol, he took a massive L on Sunday. Doubt he learned from it, people around him aren’t too bright either.
Fans are interesting, Barca has lost against Madrid and even with worse scores without a statement from any player.

I remember Madrid players with ugly attitudes in Classicos (likes of Ramos, Pepe, CR7 etc), and you don't see the Madrid fans turning against their players even when Mourinho was also instigating when he was their coach.

Messi was a mute guy, but that didn't stop some Madrid fans from saying he's a little dictator and acting (showing that talking or not, doesn't really mean shit).

Now Lamine speaks about Madrid getting favors, and fans are trying to connect it with our loss, as if we haven't lost when nothing was spoken. Did you see Madrid players or fans opposing Madrid TV when they were critiquing referees last season, even when they received more favorable treatment, or when they lost against Arsenal, despite all the remontada hype they generated before the UCL 2nd leg? But now Lamine is to blame for speaking the obvious, and rather than ask why they always get away with all these favors, we're trying to shut the kid up, anyway, let's see how it goes

Ramos, Pepe, CR7 even Carvajal were all established players, what has Lamine achieved to be speaking like that? Look at Cubarsi brilliant fella same age as Yamal. But seems much smarter, higher IQ and has better environment around him.

Who instigated all this with dumb provoking statements? Surely it wasn’t Carvajal… It all started with dumb statements from Lamine, and provoking IG posts.

Lil bro very convenient timing.
Why not go back to COURTOIS bringing up Negreira first.

Lets be honest CARVAJAL started it. And then ran when challenged to a 1v1 physical combat.

All i know is I ain't running from no one when challenged to a fight.
I ain't no bitch

2 years ago Carvajal, the man who just said Lamine talks too much, after a pre season Classico loss said " “In official competitions, we will step on Barça.”

Nobody got their panties in a bunch over it. No Barca fans acted as if someone had insulted their mother. No Madrid fans blamed Carvajal for saying it, quite the opposite actually, even though Carvajal's words came back to haunt them.

But that's the difference between their fanbase and ours. They support their players. And Barca fans just cuck off Madrid and join them in hating on Barca players.

Were Lamine's words ill timed, stupid and does he deserve to be trolled for them? Quite possibly yes. But completely ignoring the flagrant hypocrisy from Madrid players claiming the moral higher ground is frankly unforgivable.
