I'm not worried about MATs, I'm more worried about the Spanish media since MATs has incredible connections to some of the journalist.
If J. Garcia makes a mistake, there will be constant news and pressure that MATs needs to be a starter.
Really don't want that noise throughout the season, less alone all the way to 2028.

There are a handful of guys that aren't a fan of the signing due to him "being a Perico".
Although I think they will tone it down unless he has a bad start.

Just put him in the stands...not even on the bench. Let's see how long he's satisfied just collecting his giant paycheck while not playing at all. Eventually, he'll break down and leave. Players want to play, not just collect a giant check.

Modern football has 3 goalkeepers in the match squad.
Wouldn't it be logical to therfore tell Stegs that he is not part of next seasons sporting project, that our 3 goalkeepers to compete will be Joan, Szczesny and Pena.
That he either stays and isn't selected, or he goes to play.
I mean, we all know where this is heading. The Longlay route.
EPL, different world. Chelsea would just say fuck it, your out next season, deal with it. And then loan him to Spuds or United last minute of the window if still around.

So Stegen has Catalan media in his pocket while club knows nothing about. Yeah pretty much believable.
PS: same club that ran smearing campaigns against their biggest players, trough the same press
