Major doubts persist regarding Ter Stegen's knee. He injured the same knee in 2018 and played for a year and a half with chronic pain before undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. The club believes that Stegen is not ready. He could regain his full form, but that requires time, and then he needs a lot of playing time to return to his level, which is difficult at Barcelona. Ter Stegen's injury is very serious, and there is always a risk of relapse. It is the same injury as that of Ronaldo Nazario. (TV3)
Not the greatest translation but that's the gist of it. Could be an attempt to try and convince people he's basically finished and we need to move on but I believe this aspect at least.

Well, that certainly adds another layer. If he's having knee problems, he definitely won't be playing for us; way too much of a risk. García starts and Woj backs up.

What happened with Stegen in his personal life reminded me of the former Choir teacher we had at my current job a few years ago.
The dude(Choir teacher) cheated on his wife with his then-personal trainer. The wife apparently was very well off and had an excellent career and by all accounts a stand up person and he just basically threw her away.
Not sure what happened between Stegen and his Ex for her to cheat since we will never know but as for the Choir teacher, yeah there's a reason why he ended up bailing eventually. He came off really bad in that situation and he exactly wasn't a total stand up dude in general.
