True captain

Ter Stegen is angry with the goalkeeping situation. Despite having a contract until 2028 and his recent statements, he feels ignored by the club and may consider leaving if he's no longer first choice. He wants clear talks with Hansi Flick and Deco soon. The club prefer his exit due to his high salary, but won't force him out. He won't make it easy if asked to leave. @ferrancorreas

“hey may consider leaving”
“he won’t make it easy if asked to leave”

Which is it?

Means he won't leave any money on the table if pushed out. It's his right and hopefully he'll do that, he doesn't owe the club anything and stupid fans hate him anyway.

If the club wanted to push him out a year before the World Cup, they’d have the leverage to do so. They won’t, but they do hold the upper hand.

On top of that, Mats isn’t on an outrageous salary, he’s not even among the top 15 highest-paid goalkeepers in the world.

So spite might not be the only way out of it.

He is not leaving though and I am fine with that.

Locust journalists started mobbing the captain of the team, who is in the club for a decade, because it gives them klicks and likes from the usual ingrates. The only question is, if that's driven by the club like in Frenkie's case or not.
If yes, I hope MAtS demands the whole outstanding salary from Laporta. In any case, again a shameful behaviour for short-term profit, that spits on all values.

He owes the club everything. Was treated like a king and world class GK for a decade. One season he had real competition and he threatened to leave.
Blackmailed club into keeping de la Fuente too.

All outstanding salary for what? To leave? Mats isn’t some fringe player the club needs to pay off to get rid of. He can either stay and fulfill whatever role the club assigns, or choose to leave if he’s not satisfied with that.

He’s quite literally the last player who has any grounds to complain about being mistreated by the club.
