what does international match mean? And how come his matches with Catalonia don't count?

An international match is an official match played against a foreign team, IE not friendly although NT friendlies are counted as official. Catalonia is not a recognized team so their matches are considered non official friendlies. Club frendlies are not counted. Also U23, U21, U19 and U17 NT games are not counted. For exmple, Xavi's 6 matches in the 2000 olympics are not counted.

* Xavi Hernandez 289 international matches (160 with FC Barcelona and 129 with Spain)
* Iker Casillas 288 international matches (138 with Real Madrid and 150 with Spain)
* Roberto Carlos 287 international matches (162 with club and 125 with Country)

Xavi was really good today, not only his passing, but his ball control and technique. If only he hadn't lost some of the directness and killer through balls he used to do all the time...

It's time cesc got more chances against bus parking sides. Xavi has declined and is too slow and hinders any possible counters making our game one dimensional.

It was funny seeing Xavi get booted out of set pieces by Messi. Good game overall from Mr 90X. Classico looms and this guy has played every 3 days pretty much all season.
