Can't even get Benzema to finish above some random Italian.

Not able to pull the strings anymore, has his game turned weak?

Why? Pretty high placement considering he is a convicted criminal. Papa perez hasn't lost his touch, you guys just raising the bar.

Because Florentino is too smart to waste time and money on pretty meaningless stuff like that, he is too busy making money for you guys and building the next generation of galaticos.

It is not like Messi winning the BD is making us or PSG more attractive etc. Let alone a top 3 or top 5 finish. It means nothing.

Casillas gunning for Tebas seat to keep up the tradition of madridistas overseeing responsible salary management in the northeast Spain

Better give Fati absolute minimum contracts before he goes as greedy as he predecessor lol

Florentino wants to stop the CVC deal and proposed an alternative, a deal financed by his JPMorgan friends that has similar terms like the CVC deal but cuts short the 50-year period to half, and with a higher valuation (30 billion as opposed to 24 billion under CVC).

I wouldn't be surprised if there are some monkey business going on or some nice kickbacks for him and Real Madrid (lowering the interest rate of the loan from JPMorgan that Real Madrid took out to finance the new Bernabeu etc.). :papaperez:

Florentino Perez secured an additional loan of 225m for the installation of the retractable pitch at the bernabeu from JP Morgan, Bank of America, Apollo, Metlife, Aegon and Macquerie as the main creditors, with an interest rate of merely 1.52%.

So how does the bank make money loaning for 1.52%? What's the point? Basically they have too much cash and nowhere to put it, so they won't lose so much for inflation etc?

I don't know the logic but those interest rates are consistent with the loans Madrid have always been dealt, even going back to the Ronaldo deal and the reported 1% interest.

That's the genius of Florentino, if I have to take a guess, he probably has existing dealings and connections with those banks and institutions on other things such as his own business empire etc. Maybe there is quid pro quo elsewhere.

Note the so-called "Project Sustainable", which is the version driven by Real Madrid, us and Athletic Bilbao to compete against the CVC deal is financed by pretty much the same institutions such as JPMorgan and Bank of America.

Florentino is a great businessman. Probably doesn't know much about football evident by how his Superleague plan flopped, but he's good at this kind of stuff.

Luft gets such a kick praising finances.

Like, it's great when he posts impressive yearly budget summaries mid-Covid, but nobody cares when all it leads to is an investment of 3-4 year profits forked out on one player with 1 year of contract left

Perez isn't that much of a genius.
Impressive at creating clout for himself for sure, but some folk are ridiculous with praise. That American fan site Managing Madrid can't stop itself posting how great it is that Perez is looking forward 30 years by converting Bernabeu into a town square and a shopping mall. It's embarrassing frankly.

At this rate the rumoured West Ham interest in Hazard might result in us paying them 25 + 60 in bonuses just so they take him
