6 - Gavi

Should have been a yellow

Gavi was one of the best Spaniards again. I think he will start in World Cup. Pedri might affect the situation though. Pedri guaranteed starter.

Lucho doesn't rate Thiago highly it seems. It will depend if Lucho goes with the experience of Koke or not. Gavi is a bit like a young Koke actually.

Both Sport and MD running the same story today.

More Gavi-Bar?a contacts; the reason for the disagreement.

At the Camp Nou they have the player's endorsement; the difference is that some conceptualize him as a growing player and others already as a reality.

Gavi 's renewal does not worry Bar?a. It is a matter of negotiation that sooner or later will be resolved. Bar?a is betting on his continuity and the midfielder wants to stay and he has expressed this to the club. It is an economic issue that the Camp Nou hope to resolve soon. They are not afraid that he could join another team.

The contacts are continuous. Bar?a and the player's representative, Iv?n de la Pe?a , constantly exchange impressions. The point of friction is in the professional consideration of the player. While some think that he is in a period of growth, others understand that he is already a reality and not a young promise. The club insists that without his decisive commitment he would not have made it to the Spanish team. That he is with the national team and that he marks as a decisive figure does not exactly help a quick consensus.

Throughout this week, Bar?a and its entourage will continue exchanging impressions after a new offer was sent to them. There is no specific meeting scheduled, if not clarifications, if any, on what has already been worked on.

Gavi wants to stay, he is with the NT while Barcelona and De La Pena come to an agreement. We possibly need to wait until certain salary cap issues are resolved before Gavi can put pen to paper anyways.

I just watched first half of Spain Czech match. Only took mental notes:

9ish min: gets a through pass from Rodri believe and shoulder shouldered dove looking for penalty instead of attempting to score
12ish min: USA tv announcers discussing he can't tie laces and sometimes his teammates tie them for him! But saying he might be next coming of Christ ugh! Henceforth MFATAP (mass formation appeal to authority psychosis)
28 to 30ish min: dispossessed twice near right corner within a minute
38ish min: inside opp box tries side heel pass to Sarabia and gets picked off easily
in extra time: scores from Rodri pass in box

Sarabia was pretty poor this half as well and Spain adopting Xaviball midfield closed mindset wow.

If only Pool would've taken him for 42.8, alas too good to be true for Barca.

Never mind they can sign up Puig for free as he is better mid according to you.

Lets see if they do and who is the idiot.

But lets keep that to wee Riquis thread and leave the footballers threads cleaner.

Just watched 2nd half Spain Czech.

46min: almost identical to first half Rodri puts in ball Gavi barely shoulder shouldered dives shamelessly, announcers said first half his dive was too theatrical
78ish min: gets dispossessed near left corner
83ish min: TV announcers mention Gavi's been marginalized 2nd half
86:45: easy slow tiki taka around box and he trips on himself again and loses ball!
93ish min: steals ball dribbles some yards gets into box and short passes to defender

side notes on Torres: hits a tap in directly at keeper, header off target nicks post, and on a good Alonso cross doesn't even attempt header when ball reaches him

I didn't omit any good plays by Gavi, his one goal was it the entire match! If anyone wants to prove me wrong better provide a timestamp! So much drudgery, and lauded by fans here. MFATAP beyond belief!
