He's clearly an attacking mid. In fact, I bet he would play even better in Messi's position. He would be a great replacement for any of our front 3. When you put him in a position like Xavi's you are taking away almost all of his talents.

He may not feel the pressure, but what I mean more is that people think he might be a much better player than he really is. Chances are really high that he might turn into another Nolito, Cuenca, or any other noteable wingers that the Masia produced.

I agree he isn't worth 37 mill. He's worth probably around 12 mill max.

The reason it's controversial is because people have ridiculous expectations for him. He's a 10 goals a season MAX player with a few assists here and there. What he brings to the table is his workrate and his ability to create space for Messi and others, AKA things that aren't noticeable.

I think the main problem is that we fans have crazy expectations for him. He's in the same league as Tello and Cuenca. I think all this controversy about him comes from the fact that the fans expect him to perform at amazing levels when it's simply not possible. Stop getting your hopes up.
