Fabregas is doing fine but the only problem is that if we play him, we are more vulnerable to counterattacks because of the more direct approach. He's more useful against Madrid when they are tired and we are playing confidently in both attack and defense.

If Samper does impress within the next couple of years he can take the distribution role off of Thiago and let him use his skills and flair in a more attacking role. No but I don't see why trying him there would hurt. He is 2 footed and an Iniesta-Messi-Villa lineup would be deadly. Although Pedro is recovering his scoring boots now so it's not a huge issue.
