I think the loss of Sané has been understated. The team looks so much more balance with him on one side and Sterling on the other. Also losing Laporte means that their defence is back to what it was in Pep's first season.

I think they'll got for Arteta. Sounds like the board think he can be their Pep-lite.

    Jadon Sancho

Worth mentioning that only Favre seems to have a problem with him, and only this season. Zorc said he doesn't want to leave and they don't want him to. I think Favre leaving in January is just as likely as Sancho. Besides, City want him back and never wanted him to leave.

Imagine have Tammy Abraham stood next to Fernandinho in the box and never crossing him the ball in open play.

No, he's awful. Winks plays that role for Spurs. Dier hardly plays at all. The last time he did it was at CB and he was less than convincing. edit: you're right about Mourinho liking him though, he's straight back into the team.

Dier can't get into the England squad.

Unless Mourinho has somehow been humbled by what happened at United and Chelsea (extremely unlikely) then I don't see a future in which this is not a disaster.

    Erling Haaland

He'd have guaranteed playing time and get stupid money thrown at him. Wouldn't be the worst move in the world in the medium term.

If the United board have any sense they'll sack OGS immediately and replace him with Pochettino.

Rumours circulating that United are going to spend big to try and get him and Sancho in January.

It's interesting but how many of them did Mali actually develop?

Yeah, people dismissed him too quickly because of the David Brent comparisons.

And even then, he was the one that threw away the tie against Spurs in the Champions League.

I'm not sure that makes a difference.

    André Gomes

The referee definitely took out his yellow card when the foul happened and then gave Son a red card after he saw the extent of the injury, but I'm not sure he actually gave him a yellow card at any point.

    André Gomes

I think you need to re-read that. It doesn't say what you think it says. Both sentences only allow for the possibility of a red, they don't mandate it. Besides, it's self-evident that that's not true. Tackles from behind are hardly ever straight reds unless they're particularly dangerous. I'm...

Since when is tackling from behind an automatic red card?

    André Gomes

Son looked distraught. The referee has seen the extent of the injury and changed his mind to give him a red card, but the challenge itself probably didn't warrant a red from what I can tell. The injury is the result of a horrible freak accident more than anything.

One thing to consider is that City still have Laporte and Sané to return. On current form though yeah, Liverpool will probably win the league.
